Pre-arrival or on campus COVID-19 testing is recommended for all students, regardless of vaccination status.
Unvaccinated students must be tested upon return to campus and then weekly throughout the Spring semester.

Students living in on-campus housing
- Upload your vaccine records at myHealth Portal
- Get COVID test prior to move-in at a campus testing site
- Self-sequester** for 7-days (regardless of test results)
- Get vaccinated, unless you have a contraindication. During self-sequestering, getting vaccinated is allowed and strongly recommended, as long as the daily campus symptom screener(link is external) is completed the day of getting a vaccine
- Get weekly COVID testing until fully vaccinated
Students living in off-campus housing
- Upload your vaccine records at myHealth Portal
- Get vaccinated, unless you have a contraindication
- Get weekly COVID testing until fully vaccinated
International students,*** regardless of housing
- Upload your vaccine records at myHealth Portal
- Get tested before you leave, and 5 days after arrival in the U.S.
- Self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms for 10 days; call UCM Student Health at 209-228-2273 for questions
- Get tested before you leave, and 5 days after arrival
- Self-sequester for 7 days after arrival (regardless of test results)
- Get vaccinated, unless you have a contraindication.
- Self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms for 10 days; get tested and call UCM Student Health at 209-228-2273 if you develop symptoms
- Continue weekly COVID testing until fully vaccinated
*Asymptomatic vaccinated UCM students may be asked to undergo surveillance testing either as part of random surveillance or in response to any emerging clusters.
**Self-sequester = Leave room only to pick up meals, solo outdoor exercise, or urgent medical care. Stay masked whenever you leave your room, including in shared bathrooms and outside.
***Students who have traveled by airplane, bus, or train from anywhere outside California are also strongly advised to follow these guidelines.
