Campus Medical Care Assistance Fund Program

The UC SHIP Reserve Fund Investment Committee (RFIC) granted one-time funds to UC Merced as well as to the other UC campuses for distribution to students experiencing a financial hardship. These funds are intended to assist the student with paying their out-of-pocket medical and/or mental health expenses exceeding $500 and up to the in-network individual out-of-pocket maximum.

This program has been extended by the UC SHIP's Executive Oversight Board to cover expenses incurred through plan year 2024-25.

Eligibility

  • All graduate and undergraduate students and dependents who are currently enrolled in UC SHIP, and enrolled for at least one term before the date of the medical and/or mental health service, are eligible.

  • Student must have no outstanding financial balance with their campus.
